Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman scored a much-needed victory in the first round of the Indian Wells Masters, marking only the second win since the 2022 US Open.On Wednesday, at the Indian Wells Masters, the Argentine was too strong for his compatriot Federico Coria, winning 6-1, 6-2 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Now ranked No 38 in the world, former, No. 8, Schwartzman ended his 2022 season with seven consecutive losses, including a third loss defeat at the US Open.

Also chilenean´s Cristian Garin (Q) beat Daniel Elahi Galan from Colombia 6-4, 6-2 and another Argentinean Pedro Cachin beat Nikoloz Basilashvili 7-5, 6-3
His reward is a second round showdown against third seed Casper Ruud, of Norway.
