A PHYSICAL TEST BEFORE THE US OPEN

M1000 Cincinnati
The final Masters 1000 event before the US Open is proving to be a true physical challenge for the players. This time, it was Frances Tiafoe who felt the toll, unable to finish his Round of 16 match against Holger Rune. The Danish star was leading 6-4, 3-1 when the American was forced to retire.

In the second set, a visibly depleted Tiafoe struggled to keep pace. Although he managed to hold serve in his opening game, his energy quickly faded. From 1-1, Rune took full command, breaking to go up 3-1. It was at this point that Tiafoe decided he could not continue. Rune sealed the win 6-4, 3-1 (ret.) and advanced to the quarterfinals, where he will face either Taylor Fritz or Terence Atmane.

The match underscored just how demanding this pre–US Open stretch can be — with Cincinnati once again testing not only skill, but also endurance and resilience.
Unos problemas en la parte baja de la espalda parecen ser el problema. A escasos días del US Open, esperemos que no sea nada grave para el Big Foe. Rune, por tanto, pasa directamente a cuartos de final en el ATP de Cincinnati.
