DJOKOVIC ADVANCES AND WILL FACE MUSETTI

M 1000 MIAMI OPEN . By Emiliano Naftali
Serbian star Novak Djokovic, currently ranked No. 7 in the world, showcased his dominance this Sunday at the 2025 Miami Open, halting the dream run of Argentina’s Camilo Ugo Carabelli (No. 65) with a convincing 6-1, 7-6 victory in the third round of the tournament.

Djokovic secured the win after 1 hour and 47 minutes on the main court, continuing his quest for the 100th title of his career. He is also looking to end a title drought since his last triumph at the Paris Olympic Games in August 2024.

The Serbian’s next opponent in the round of 16 of the Florida-based event will be Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti (No. 16), who defeated Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (No. 19) in a hard-fought battle, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

With this victory, Djokovic reached his 411th win in ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, surpassing Rafael Nadal to become the player with the most wins in this category. Additionally, he is aiming for his seventh Miami Open title, which would make him the tournament’s most successful player, surpassing Andre Agassi, with whom he currently shares the record of six titles.
