The Serbian, aiming for his seventh Miami Open title, defeated American Sebastian Korda 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) on Thursday in one hour and 24 minutes to secure his spot in the quarterfinal match, which had been postponed from Wednesday night.

According to the ATP’s official website, Novak became the oldest semifinalist in Masters 1000 history at 37 years and 10 months old, surpassing the previous record of 37 years and 7 months set by the Swiss player in 2019.
With this victory and new record, the former world No. 1 will seek his seventh title at the second Masters 1000 event of the year, following his triumphs in 2007, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Up next, he will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals.
