GOOD START FOR LATIN AMERICANS

M 1000 INDIAN WELLS
Chilean Cristian Garin and Argentinean Pedro Cachin and Diego Schwartzman made their debuts on Wednesday with respective victories at the Indian Wells Masters 1000.

Garin defeated Colombian Daniel Galan, while Cachin and Schwartzman overcame veteran Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili and fellow Rioplatense Federico Coria, respectively.

In the first Latin American duel, Garin disposed of Galan in two sets, 6-4, 6-2, and in the next round he will face Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, who had a bye in the first round.

Meanwhile, Cachin, who won against Basilashvili 7-5, 6-3 in one hour and 26 minutes, will cross paths with 12th seed German Alexander Zverev, who also had a bye in the first round, in the second round.
