ATP 250 DELRAY BEACH. By Gsbriel Matteazzi Sebastian Korda earned his third ATP Tour title at the Delray Beach Open, where he defeated fifth-seeded countryman Tommy Paul 6-4, 6-3 in the final
The two contenders coming into this final played a fantastic tournament, and arrived to the final full of confidence and momentum.
The first set was a close one until the weather conditions changed drastically as a cold front hit Delray, and a lot of gusty wind took center stage; at that point, the more conservative and more consistent game of Korda gave him the first set
The wind continued in the second set, and Korda’s game adjusted a lot better again; a few errors of Tommy Paul gave Sebi a break and a lead, and he took the match holding that lead until the end, finishing the match with a 6/3
Great week for Sebastian Korda, who is getting back to his level after injuries and a year of ups and downs
Great tournament, great atmosphere incredible tennis, and one more edition of the Delray Beach Open is over
A great event, we can’t wait to be back next year
