ATP FINALS – TURIN
On Day 3 of the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals, Carlos Alcaraz and local favorite Lorenzo Musetti both prevailed in hard-fought three-set battles in Turin.

Alcaraz came from behind to defeat 2024 finalist Taylor Fritz. With this victory, the Spaniard moves within 50 points of securing the year-end No. 1 ranking presented by PIF. Musetti, meanwhile, overcame Alex de Minaur to claim his first-ever win at this prestigious event.

The day also featured a tense clash between eighth seed Félix Auger-Aliassime and Ben Shelton, with both players fighting to stay alive in the tournament and keep their semifinal hopes alive. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Auger-Aliassime ultimately edged it 4-6, 7-6(7), 7-5 after two hours and 25 minutes.

“He was playing much better than me at the start,” admitted Auger-Aliassime. “It doesn’t usually happen that I get broken twice indoors… it was a strange beginning, but as the match went on I started finding a way to get returns in play. In the rallies, I felt I could win more points. I just had to fight, believe, and play the next point the right way.”

“I felt great physically. We recovered well and did the right things,” added Auger-Aliassime. “Today I was able to play two and a half hours of high-intensity tennis. Credit to [Shelton]—he kept serving really well. When your opponent plays that good, you have to acknowledge it, but also stay patient.”
