Coco Gauff beat Marta Kostyuk 7-6 (6), 6-7 (3), 6-2 in a match filled with errors at the Australian Open and advances to the semifinals in Australia.
The fourth-seeded Gauff saved two set points while coming back from a 5-1 deficit to take the first set in a tiebreaker but was pushed to a decisive set before securing her victory after a three-hour and eight-minute battle.
Gauff committed 51 unforced errors, nine double faults, and only managed 17 winners, but she survived to advance to the semifinals, where she will face defending champion Aryna Sabalenka or No. 9 Barbora Krejcikova. The American now has 12 consecutive victories in Grand Slam matches after winning the U.S. Open in September of last year.
