SINNER Cruises into Miami Third Round

ATP M 1000 MIAMI. By Emiliano Naftali
Italian star Jannik Sinner advanced confidently into the third round of the Miami Open after a dominant victory over Bosnia’s Damir Dzumhur in just over an hour of play.

The world No. 2 wrapped up the match 6–3, 6–3 in only 1 hour and 10 minutes, controlling proceedings from start to finish while carefully managing his physical workload following a demanding stretch of recent tournaments.

Sinner showcased clear superiority from the baseline, striking 21 winners compared to just 8 from his opponent. He also broke Dzumhur’s serve three times—once in the opening set and twice more in the second—while facing only a single break point, which he successfully saved.

The Italian also looked to shorten rallies by approaching the net more frequently, coming forward around ten times. This tactical adjustment helped him conserve energy after the physical toll of competing in the California desert.

Up to now, only legends such as Jim Courier, Michael Chang, Pete Sampras, Marcelo Ríos, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic have achieved this feat.
