The IEB+ Argentina Open has defined its singles and doubles semifinals after a Friday that offered high-level matches at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. The action started with Tomás Martín Etcheverry’s comeback against Alejandro Tabilo. The Chilean dominated the first set, but the Argentine adjusted his game and reversed the match, winning 1-6, 6-3, and 6-4.
Francisco Cerúndolo confirmed his status as a candidate by beating Czech Vít Kopřiva 6-4 and 6-3. Cerúndolo maintained initiative in long exchanges and resolved the match in straight sets to advance to semifinals.
In the night session, Sebastián Báez took one of the toughest matches of the day against Camilo Ugo Carabelli, winning 7-6(5) and 6-2. The last match featured Luciano Darderi and Spanish Pedro Martínez, with Darderi winning 7-5 and 6-1
In doubles, Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos, and Guido Andreozzi with French Manuel Guinard, advanced to semifinals ¹ ² ³.
