Its realy important at the moment of contact during a serve, precision and timing are paramount for generating power and accuracy. Focus on aligning your body so that your hitting shoulder is in line with the ball trajectory.
The key is to make contact at the optimal point, where the ball is slightly ahead of your body, as you swing, your arm should extend fully, reaching maximum length to ensure a clean hit.
Hyperextension of the arm is critical—it allows for a greater transfer of energy from your body to the ball. This extension must be controlled; too much can lead to injury, while too little will reduce your serve’s effectiveness.
Don´t forget to keep your wrist firm during contact to maintain stability and direct the ball accurately, your grip should be relaxed yet secure, ensuring that the racket face meets the ball with the proper angle.
Timing the hyperextension with your body’s rotation creates a fluid and powerful motion.
Practice drills that emphasize the moment of contact to build muscle memory for a perfect serve.
