THE DEFENDIG CHAMPION SAID “GOOD BYE”

ATP 250 ARGENTINA OPEN. By Leo Canaparo
Despite a strong start, Facundo Díaz Acosta was eliminated in the first round of the Argentina Open, falling to Brazil’s Thiago Seyboth Wild 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 in a match that lasted two hours and 11 minutes.

Díaz Acosta showed inconsistency in his game and saw his performance decline midway through the second set, as the Brazilian found his best form and took control of the match.

In an all-Argentine clash, Mariano Navone defeated Francisco Comesaña 6-4, 6-4, despite suffering cramps while leading 3-1 in the decisive set. The second Argentine singles player in the Davis Cup will now face Denmark’s Holger Rune, a former top-10 player and the tournament’s second seed.
