WIMBLEDON ADDS MORE INJURY WITHDRAWALS

WIMBLEDON.
Wimbledon has suffered another pair of injury-related withdrawals, bringing the total number of absences in the men’s draw to six. This time, Sebastian Korda and Thomas Machac have been forced to pull out of the year’s third Grand Slam.

The Czech player, who has not competed since his second-round loss to Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros, is dealing with a foot injury, as he revealed on Instagram.

“Bad news tonight. Unfortunately, the tear in my left foot has not healed enough and I have to withdraw from Wimbledon. It’s a disappointing moment, but I’m doing everything I can to return for the U.S. summer swing. Thank you all for your support. See you soon.”

Machac now joins a growing list of withdrawals that already includes Carlos Alcaraz, Valentin Vacherot, Arthur Cazaux, and Lorenzo Musetti, leaving Wimbledon without several notable names ahead of the start of the Championships.
