One of the most beautiful tournaments on the ATP Tour is about to begin—not just for its top-tier tennis, but also for its breathtaking location. We’re talking about the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, held at the iconic Monte-Carlo Country Club, founded in 1928 by Prince Louis II of Monaco.
With stunning views over the French Riviera, this event unfolds in a city that also hosts the world-famous Monaco Grand Prix and the luxurious Monaco Yacht Show. Starting Monday, the entire Principality will pulse with tennis energy as one of the most prestigious clay-court events on the calendar gets underway.
Fun Fact: Rafael Nadal holds the record here with 11 titles, including a mind-blowing streak of eight consecutive wins from 2005 to 2012—a feat unmatched in tennis history.
Novak Djokovic is the only player to beat Nadal twice at this event (2009 & 2013).
The tournament is the first big clay-court Masters 1000 of the year, setting the tone for Roland Garros.
Despite being held in France, the Monte-Carlo Masters is officially part of Monaco’s sporting legacy.
